Snow Fun!!!

On December 1st we had our first snow!!  It was literally a blizzard!! It snowed for 6 or 7 days straight.  I have been playing in the snow almost EVERY day! My brother Jayden and I were having a snowball fight.  We built walls out of snow and made about 15 snowballs each....  then we made MORE during the match!  My dogs Muffin and Oscar wanted to play in the snow too!!  They came out and were barking and getting really snowy!!  When Muffin went in, I chased Oscar around the yard.  He finally got really cold so I let him in for my mom to dry off.   My mom told me my dad would love it if the driveway was shoveled when he got home.  I went into the garage and retrieved the shovel. When I started shoveling this guy drove into my driveway and said "I hate to see you shovel".  After that he plowed my driveway for FREE!!  I was like "thanks".   I sent him a thank you card later that day.

The Science Center and Violin Lesson

Like my face!?!
A few weeks ago on Monday, I went to the Rochester Museum and Science Center before my violin lesson.  I wanted to play in the K'NEX area.  I built an amazing gyro swing!  K'NEX are very fun and sometimes confusing to put together!  The gyro swing is probably my favorite though, it is the only one I ever do!  We also went to the beginning exhibit.  I played in the water and sand most of the time!   I made an awesome river with very tall sand mountains surrounding it!  Then we went to a table and ate our lunch.  I had cheese, crackers, and bologna! Yum!!!

I was so young!!!
After the science center, we went to music lessons. While Jayden was having his piano lesson, I was reading in the car. When it was my turn, I ran into my violin teachers studio.  I am starting the 6th song in Suzuki Violin Book 3.  There is one song left in the book, after I finish song #6, and then I move on to Suzuki Violin Book 4.  I attend my violin lessons every other Monday.  Every violin lesson day brings new surprises for me!!!

Applebee's+Book Club+Adventure Landing=Crazy Day

Last Sunday, I went to Applebee's for lunch with my grandpa, Poppy. I LOVE Applebee's and I don't get to go there often, so it was nice of Poppy to take my brother and I.  I had a house salad and it was VERY good!  I also had an amazing Oreo shake!!!  It tasted so good!!!  I was so full afterwords, that I thought I was going to explode!

From there I went to my mother/daughter book club. We meet once a month in rotating houses to discuss a book, participate in a craft or activity and just spend time playing together.  The book this month was called A House at Pooh Corner.  We also did a craft in which we had to draw our own Pooh product.  I had a hard time figuring out what I was going to do!  I finally decided on best friend t-shirts.  One t-shirt had Pooh on it and said Best and the other had piglet on it and said Friends. That was a lot of fun!

Then straight from there we went to Adventure Landing for my brother's friend Andrew's birthday party!  Some of the games I was really bad at like the jumping game and the claw game.  The ball pit was very fun!   It can also be very tiring!  I hung out with my friend Alyssa.  I won 445 tickets altogether!  I bought a bunch of little things including a foam bow and arrow set.  Finally, we went home very tired!  I stayed up for a little while longer and then went straight to bed!

A Gymnastics Meet + A Baby = Fun

This past Thursday I had my gymnastics practice meet.  I did pretty well except for one event......bars.  Out of 10.0, my score was a 6.6.  My beam score was 8.8, my vault score was 8.5, and my floor score was 8.15.  That makes my all around score 32.05 out of 40.00.  That is a reasonable score for being my first meet in level 6.  (To qualify for the State Meet you have to earn an all around score of 31.5 at a state qualifying meet.)

The reason my bars score was so low is because my casts weren't high enough and I fell on my fly away dismount.  Some other things I need to work on are my dismount off of the beam, front tuck and front handspring pass on the floor, and not staying on the vault so long.  Some of the things I am good at are my back tuck on the floor and my full turn and scale on the beam.

Tub Fun!
After the practice meet, we went to my mom's friend's house.  Her name is Shana.   She also has a blog.  It is called A Queen Among Kings because she is the only girl in her house.  Her husband Dave made pulled pork for dinner.  Yummy!   They have two little boys; Nathanial who is 4 and Alex who is 2.  Alex is VERY cute!!!  After dinner Alex wanted to take a bath.  I told Shana I could watch Alex while he was in the bath.  Alex wanted ALL of his bath toys in the tub with him!  While he was happily playing, I was putting up foam letters and writing on the wall of the shower!  All of the adults thought we were very cute!  When Alex wanted to get out I dried him off and Shana put on his clothes.

My First Blog Post: My Life

Hello, my name is Chloe.  I am 11 years old.  I am in 6th grade.  I live in a cozy house near the lake.  My household members are my mom (Heidi), my dad (Joey), and my two younger siblings Jayden and Ava.  I also have two dogs: Muffin (8 Years), Oscar (5 months).
I am a Level 6 competitive gymnast.  That keeps me at the gym 5 days a week, for a total 13 1/2 hours.  I love doing gymnastics!   One of my strong events is floor.  I have gotten very good at my tumbling passes!  I am also a headcase.  I tend to think about things WAY to much.  I get very scared to do some of the skills!  I always have to push through that fear though.  My friends cheer me on all the time!  That helps me get through those tough times!  They are always there for me.  I try to always be there for them, and to cheer them on whenever they need it, and to also help them up if they fall, mentally and physically.  My coaches also help me SO much!  They know I get frustrated really easily!  They also know I am a headcase and help me push through the fear.  I love my friends and my coaches!

Another thing I love is playing the violin.  My violin teacher, Mike is the best!  He helps me so much!  He understands when I get frustrated and helps me get past that.  I also want to play the guitar.  When I get my guitar, Mike is going to teach me to play it too!

Another thing you will want to know about me is that I am homeschooled.  I love homeschooling!  In my opinion, homeschooling is WAY better than public school!  Here's why:
  1. I don't have to get up very early
  2. I get a lot of free time
  3. I don't have to worry about being bullied.
  4. I get to do things like go to the mall in the middle of the day.
  5. I don't have ANY homework. (or maybe it is just ALL homework!)
  6. Sometimes I even get to stay in my pajamas!
  7. I get to make pretty much whatever I want for lunch.
  8. I usually don't have that much work.
  9. I get to be in my own house while I do my work.
  10. My MOM is my TEACHER!
My life can be very busy at times, but I get a lot of free time when I don't have extra activities.  At night I enjoy reading.  I LOVE to read!  I read for about 2 hours each night!  My friends at the gym think I'm CRAZY, but I really do read that much!  Ask my mom!

That is my life in a nutshell.   This is my first blog post!  I am very excited about having a blog!  My mom also has a blog!  Now I get to be just like her!  In the future, I want to blog about my family.  Family means a LOT to me.  I think of it as family, school, gymnastics, and everything else!!!  I hope this post helps you know a little bit about me!
